Ok guys its official, we are now on blazecraft.net. This is the game IP. blazecraft.net/forum is obviously the forum address. Make sure you sign up because this blog is soon to be toast. Our proper site will be up very soon.

1.5 Released / Blazecraft Forum

So as you may know Minecraft 1.5 is out, its a huge update with heaps of new stuff and looks to be awesome.

On the downside the Craftbukkit server software is still being updated and it looks like its a huge job for the Craftbukkit guys.

We will be holding tight on 1.4 until theres a stable, recommended Craftbukkit release.

It's about time I know, some new rankage! just 2 for now to see hownit goes, should spice up the chat screen for sure.

So what's deal?

First up 'HCGC'

- that's 'hardcore GC' - awarded to the hardcore crew who have been dedicated to the server and are offline less than online :)

'$WE$'

- this is the second donor rank which adds some worldedit and item spawn functions. Under construction at the mo as this is a very powerful rank. The donation for this is $10 US.

More additional ranks to come.

So if you didnt notice, everyones bank balance has been reset, this time Ive made the starting balance 5000 3db's so you can get started in the /shop.

Just while we are on that topic, we are lucky to have the shop as it is being updated by someone else other than the original author. He has also made it possible to only use /shop in specific areas (so like we could make shops in towns where you have to go to be able to use /shop) but I have disabled that at this stage. Feedback on this would be appreciated. It could be useful / fun to implement.

By unanomous decision we are holding back from upgrading the server till most of our addons are updated.

Thats right, 1.4 update is about to arrive which means until the server gets updated also (Which includes all plugins), there will be some down time. Keep your eyes here, on the facebook group page (until the new site with forum is built) for updates on where we are at. As u know this happens at every minecraft update.

HUGE UPDATE!!! READ THIS!!!

WE HAVE A NEW WORLD

Its called 'Wobble'

The original 3D map is still available by doing /world 1

Wobble is /world 0

Wobble is now the default map, generated post 1.3.

Also we have added, by popular demand, MCMMO. Its pretty cool. It adds an RPG style to the game. Check for the details.

And we have also added TOWNY too. Check for the deets on that one.

Dont forget to let us know if something is broke, we have just done a huge update so theres bound to be a few probs for the next few days.

Long time no post......

Its been a week or two since the last post and theres a few things we are going to be doing that you guys should be aware of.....

Firstly we are thinking of creating a new map, making the current world secondary to a new default. Thats all good as we already have multiverse setup. Keen for your feedback on this one. (3d is getting a bit hagged - its been thru alot)

Secondary we are about to setup a proper site, with in game data / stats to be viewed. Also thinking of setting up a forum to support our sever where we can all discuss ideas and opinions etc. The forum will help keep everyone from the different time zones in touch.

Monster Hunt

So if you didnt know or arent sure about monsterhunt, here you go....

If you dont sign up by doing /hunt after being prompted, you arent in that game.
Games happen every night and sign up is prompted at dusk.

If you win, you (currently) get 200 3db per monster killed and a diamond.

Everyone else gets 100 3db per monster killed.

SHOP IS BACK! ACHIEVEMENTS TOO!

Yes thats right, shop is functional.
Use /shop for options.

Achievements is back too, use /stats to see where you at and /ach for achievement help.

Bukkitofblocks is also back, so glass and stairs recycle on break again. Use gold pick to recycle smoothstone.

Holla at me if your 3DB balance isnt the same as it was pre MC 1.3, I have list of pre 1.3 balances but need to add in game.

Back rolling, thanks to Comwalk and Fuzzylightning again. The only things that are down at the mo is multiverse and iconomy / shop. Shouldnt be longer than a couple days [hopefully] till they are updated. Cheers!

Back up but temporarily

We have got the server as updated as possible. Some of the plugin devs havent yet updated their stuff to meet the new 1.3 update. Shouldnt be too long. So as a precaution we have made a save as of approx 8pm gmt+13. Be warned that we most likely will roll back to this.

1.3 makes our server outdated

Minecraft has updated to 1.3 which make our server as it stands, outdated. Will fix it after work have tried via phone but it threw errors. Hold tight team will be all up and running in a few hours.

Nub Madness

If you didnt notice we had 209 people thru (at least) this weekend. Thanks to my smart idea of listing us on mcserverlist.net. Who would of thort. Anyways we did get some GC's join, but of course, with that many people, we banned about 10 total. There was some greefing going on, and at a terrible time as our greefing rollback tool was faulty. So rollbacks were done manually by myself and a few others. But rest assured, its fixed now so all edits are logged. Also we have removed our server from the mcserverlist.

Big ups to all the crew for putting up with the madness. You know who you are.

WARPS HAVE CHANGED!

We are now using xWarp. It gives more flexability and requires us to give different perks to different groups.

Heres the new commands:

Mad Updates - Nether now working

Big ups to Fuzzylightning, did some mad server updates lastnight including getting nether installed and running but it seemed we had a mass of plugins break in the process, so all have been updated to current and we are now rolling.

Blah...

We are going to have access to the nether on the server this week! Problem at the moment is my Internet is capped (thanks to hosting the server from home :)) and rolls over on the 16th, so its a bit difficult doing work online till then. So hold tight.

Also a big thanks to all the donators, you guys are helping to keep the server up and running as all proceeds go to the server hosting costs. Any excess funds will be kept as a buffer for following months payments in case someone decides to not donate anymore.

Ive decided to make Fuzzylightning a proper Admin, whether he like is or not :p. He does a great deal helping me to maintain the server and makes some real mint screenshots for the forums. Im sure you guys agree its a good idea to Admin him :P

What a weekend.....

Just a quick post for the end of a mad weekend. We had some mad shit going on this weekend what with a greefing nasty fucking shit up and a few plugins break whilst we updated other plugins... nothing we cant handle tho.

IRC is connected now via quakenet on #blazecraft thanks to MasterCtrl and Comwalk.

Cheers to all the donators this weekend too, without donations we wouldnt be able to run the server efficiently.

iConomy, Shop & Donations

Donations are working now, but ive had to change the price to $5 US not NZ just to keep the account tidy...

Have now added in game currency - 3D Bucks - so you can buy /sell / trade with other players and at the /shop.

Donators will get 50000 3DB on payment.

To check your balance use /money.

Your balance increases per time in game.

There will be tools added to use the /money feature (like tool / armour restore)

Ok so the host migration went well with less than 24 hours downtime, which aint too bad considering.... Anyways with the awesome help of Fuzzylightning and Comwalk, we are back up and running on the new server. There has also been a revamp of the groups permissions to allow for a VIP group with privileges for donators. See the donation info there on the right.

TESTING

Ok so the server is up on the new host, and we are currently testing it as a few plugins have broke during the change from a windows platform to linux. Shouldnt be too long before were back up.... Feel free to use the shoutbox to rark us up in the mean time :D

In Transit

Ok guys, hold tight the server is now IN TRANSIT. Hopefully, all going well we will be testing it in a couple hours from now... max. We will be uploading the current map so hold tight no new map until we are established on the new server...

Server Re-Location

Ok so 3rd Dimensions popularity has exceeded my expectations, I can no longer handle the bandwidth running it from home, so with the thanks of Comwalk, we are going to run it via his server and see how it goes. It is based in California, USA but after a few ping tests, there is an acceptable rate to play. Runs smoother than on my home pc which is great. The transfer will start this evening and should be up by the end of the week. WATCH THIS SPACE!

Operating System

Have now installed 64-bit Windows 7 onto the machine, so in the last 2 weeks it has recieved more ram a faster hdd and of course Win7 x64. Lets see how this goes. We trialled monsters on and had a small lag but a massive improvement compared to the last time we tried. Will have monsters on and off alternatively so take note to the MOTD when you log in to the game.
